Introducing My Kindle (Mr Book is his name)

Just a quick post today - wanted to share my lovely Kindle with you all :)

I got this last year - from amazon, it was around £70 i think?
The first book I read on it was Katie Pipers Beautiful, I read it in a few hours and cried my eyes out in some parts (V good book - highly recommend!!)

I got the beautiful cover for it from Amazon also, It comes in a variety of styles, I love the 'Old' look.

I keep it on my bedside table and for Xmas I got the MightyBright L.E.D light for it, as I love reading at night, and as this is the older style Kinde touch, It doesnt have a back light.
(I would recommend this light - its fab - Also from Amazon!)

When the Kindle is sleeping it shows Literature-related photos on it like this typewriter below.

Here is the MightyBright in action - Very bright and ideal for night time reading with the big light off!

Amazon sends out an email everyday showing a few books for 99p. But also if you look on their website LOADS of books are always reduced to 20p or if its quite popular at the time!

My favourite book I read so far from Kindle was 'The Fault In Our Stars' by John Green. Its such a wonderful book, Its about two cancer patients who fall in love. Obviously its sad, but very funny and witty - and Highly Romantic! I have read it 4 times now and my Sister who is book mad also read it and loved it.

I have also purchased The Hobbit, Les Miserables, Pride and Prejudice and many other classics (Not read them yet!!)

Its fab for car journeys, long flights or generally picking up every night! It saves where you last read until, and  gives you a percentage of how far the book you are through.

All in all - I love it. (I never thought I would!!) But excellent if you're short on space for real books - Like me!
p.s Im currently reading the 5:2 diet by Michael Mosely - review coming!!

Do you Kindle? Share your favourite books with me!!

Pizza Wrap...

So Im on a diet. Well a 'Lifestyle Change'.
Im participating in the 5:2 diet which you may or may not have heard of. I wont go into too much detail, but bascially you eat normally for 5 days, and fast for two. (Mine are Tuesday and Thursdays where Im allowed 400cals)
So today being Wednesday, its a 'normal' day. Though Im making my normal days healthier than I usually would. Im feeling fabulous, and will write a proper post on this soon!

For my dinner tonight I made Pizza Wraps, as found on GEMSMAQUILLAGE. She makes such lovely food, and its always pretty healthy too which is great!

See ingredients below:

Fry the chopped up veg (Not necessary but I prefer to)

Spread some puree on the wrap...

Scatter the veg on the wrap...

Scatter on some cheese...

Stick in the oven for ten mins...whilst this was cooking I knocked up a simple dressing of Balsamic, Olive Oil and Wholegrain Mustard...Prepare a wee salad and dress...

Looks YUMMY!!...

Wrap up and fold!! TaDa! These were so yummy! I cant wait to try different toppings, Im thinking Rocket and Chorizo or ham and pineapple!!

Thanks Gem!

My friend at work so kindly taught me how to Cross Stitch, Id seen some examples from Victoria at LilyLovesLola, shes fab at them, and totally my style!
I started off with a small silhouette of a lady, but she went a bit wrong and looks like she had a beard!

Anyway for my next one I decided to try something more lengthy. Here is what I Chose and my progress so far :)

(Threads given to me by my friend - Thank you!)

Hope you like - I need to get into gear and finish it before 2014!! :)

Tattoo Tuesdays 05/02/13

I have decided - as I am a MASSIVE tattoo fan - to start a Tattoo Tuesday feature. I have seen these on blogs and I love them.
I will pick one tattoo every Tuesday and post it on my blog.

My favourite source for Tattoos is http://fyeahtattoos.com/archive Its one long continuous page of tattoos. Quirky, Sentimental, Massive, Girly, Arty tattoos from all over. In fact I have posted my tattoos on here a few times - though Ive never seen them on the page :(

Todays tattoo is My own. I got this done last October, I had wanted it done for years but never got round to it. I found one tattoo I liked from fyeah - then googled similar images so I could give them to my local tattoo shop to design my own.

The three drawings below are the actual designs I took in:

This is the original image that inspired my choice. Im so glad she had hers or I never would have had mine :)

This is the design that the lovely fella at Zooz Tattoos in Portsmouth designed for me. I didnt see it until the day before and was so nervous about it in case I had to tell him to change bits!

But I absolutely loved it :)

Here is my tattoo a few hours after getting it done.
It took three hours in total - and cost £120 which is amazing for the size and shading of it!
It didnt hurt getting it done - I bled a lot but he complimented my sit-still ability :)

I kept it covered for a few hours, cleaned it and covered it with Bepanthen. I then let nature take its course and it healed in a few days with regular coats of cream and gentle washes.

Here it is a few days after, still red but not sore :)

An Instagram piccie for my FB.

...And this was taken a few days ago :) I still love it, and It catches my eye whenever I look in the mirror as it comes over my shoulder slightly.

I hope you all love it as much as I do...I would recommend waiting  a year before getting a tattoo. I have chopped and changed my mind over so many designs over the years - But once you know the one for you - wait a year and if you still love the idea of it then - get it!

I really want a Pin Up Girl for my next one - havent decided where or who yet, but I found a brilliant Pin Up design website and am choosing from a few I love <3 p="">

3 March 2012

I like this.

I have not blogged in ages. I have become a blog-phobe. Well from my own anyway.

Although i read blogs everyday, I sort of took an unexpected break from it all last year. So too with my sewing and photo taking. No particular reason why - But now im back!

Im still buying lots of lovely things - admiring lots of images - thinking of new ideas, I just havent shared them for a while.Add Image

So to start me back off...a nice easy break in post if you like..I thought i'd share with you my ever expanding heart wall...

As you may or may not know this has been an aim of mine for a few years now, every christmas and birthday my mum adds to it (thank you) and every time im taken with a new heart in a shop i will 'treat' myself. I dont see me ever getting bored of these :)

Nice to be back <3
